All Cryptos > Monero (XMR)
Monero (XMR) is an open-source cryptocurrency created in April 2014 that focuses on privacy, decentralization, and scalability that runs on Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android, and FreeBSD. Monero uses a public ledger to record transactions while new units are created through a process called mining. Monero aims to improve on existing cryptocurrency design by obscuring sender, recipient and amount of every transaction made as well as making the mining process more egalitarian.
Specialized in providing privacy and anonimoty to users, wallets and transactions
Nobody inspecting the blockchain can tell from where the funds came (untraceability).
Despite the privacy features, if an account needs to be audited, it is possible to share its view key with the auditer to do so
Full privacy: uses 3 different technologies to hide sender, receiver, as well as the amount transferred.
No blocksize limit: The blocksize can be increased based on demand. The only restriction is the blocksize growth rate, indicating that there will be little scalability issue.
Transaction sizes on the blockchain are much larger than Bitcoin
There are other similar projects (ZCash & PIVX) that are also accepted by the public
Does not have a standard voting system for the project changes
Transaction fees are scaling with the price of the token, just like bitcoin. Does not benefit users.
wont go to the moon
